History

eLearningK12 began as a dream in the mind of Nancy Toups, who yearned for a way to reach all of the students in her class. Despite her best efforts, some students were falling behind while others were bored. Nancy knew there had to be a better way. Many years later, she found that better way.
Nancy collaborated with Beth Marcello and Celeste Robichaux in 1999 to found eSchool. All three women have homeschooled their own children. Originally, all students attended classes only one day a week, with an additional day of group activities. The remainder of the time, students worked from home under the guidance of a parent or other adult. After two years of growth, parents requested daily classes for students. We began offering classes from one to five days a week to meet the needs of our enrolled families. This program proved so popular that we have twice had to move to larger locations to accommodate the number of students.
In 2004, eSchool began collaborating with Jefferson Parish School System to provide online instruction to their homebound students. This program was so successful that Jefferson expanded it to include an alternative school. After a number of years of our guidance, Jefferson Parish now handles the entire program themselves.
In 2006, Nancy founded eLearningK12 to accommodate current and future growth and expansion efforts.
As more and more families requested services, eLearningK12 expanded from one location in Thibodaux to a location in Houma in 2006. In 2007, eLearningK12 opened a second Thibodaux location, under the direction of one of the co-founders, Beth Marcello.
In 2008, eLearningK12 relocated our Houma location to a larger facility. Our Ridgefield location moved to a new location near North Canal Boulevard. In the fall of 2010, new learning centers opened in Acadiana (Lafayette area), Baton Rouge and Houston. Several additional locations are in the development stages and will open in the future.
